Scouting for Girls 'Greatest Hits'

It's always nice to be told you were first choice for the campaign artwork & even better when your initial thoughts for a project are greeted with so such enthusiasm.

SFG's 'Greatest Hits' is one such campaign. Shot on Location in France, Devon, Cornwall & Brighton the process has been one of those dream projects from start to finish and a lot of fun in the making. Dealing with all the wonderful people over at the label, the band, management, the models, the locations, the whole project has been a huge pleasure and one of those jobs that you'll always remember for all the right reasons. Thanks Guys! 

The album is released 27th July and out on Standard CD / Deluxe 2 Disc CD, Signed Deluxe 2 Disc CD & Download. 

The album is preceeded by the new single 'Milionaire' released on 21st July.

Elbow - The Definitive Vinyl album Box set

Here's one from a while ago that weirdly we haven't mentioned yet! Obviously it was a special treat to work on some more art for Elbow having worked with them in various forms from the days of 'Asleep in the Back'. 

We worked on some of the contents (re-appriasing artwork and expanding) for this super limited definitive vinyl box set. There are some bands that you just should have on vinyl and Elbow are definitely one. It's a beautiful thing, enough said!!

Harleighblu 'Forget Me Not'

   

Harleighblu has been involved in music from very early on in life, starting with songwriting at the tender age of 7 at a community recording studio in Nottingham. Since then her drive, belief and passion for creative exploration has seen her naturally develop into one of the UK’s most promising young artists at the ripe old age of 20. Having supported the likes of Liam Bailey and Natalie Duncan and gathering early support from Rodney P (featuring on his new single 'Success') and MistaJam ( labelling her 'The new queen of hip hop soul' ), as well as BBC Introducing, the buzz around Harleighblu is underway!

It's been a pleasure and a lot of fun working with her, a truly wonderful and professional young girl with a big career ahead. The album is released June through Tru Thoughts.

LONGPIGS 'On and On' The Anthology

Every now and again there comes along a band that knocks you sideways. Longpigs were one of those bands when you first heard them in 93. 'She Said' & 'jesus Christ' still bring me out in goosebumps today!  So when asked to work on an anthology for them we jumped at the chance. 

The band always faced an uphill struggle from the start -  Crispin's car crash, the label closing before they'd released the debut single, and various other hurdles through their career which endeared them to all but seemingly isolated. Regardless, the band released some amazing tracks across a far too short life span and to have them celebrated in one place is something we're surprised hadn't happened before. Of course all good things must end and out of the ashes came a fantastic solo career for Richard Hawley and Crispin's songwriting talent has gone on to write for Florence & the Machine,  Cee-Lo Green, Gabriella Cilmi & Newton Faulkner to name a few. 

We decided to use shots of a deserted airport at 4am to represent that isolation and created a great set of imagery that sits well with the band story. 

The definitive Lonpigs Anthology 'On and On' - Superb album and a must for anyone who has any interest in UK independent music from the 90's.

The Primitives 'Lovely' 25th Anniversary Edition

Really great to be involved in teh 25th anniversary re-issue of Primitives ' Lovely'. What a great indie pop album this is & now comes with a 2nd disc full of live tracks, demos and b-sides to add to the expanded booklet it's an indie popster's must have. Having worked previously with the band on 'Everything's Shining Bright - the Lazy recordings 85-87' it was great to be asked back to work on this special deluxe version of 'Lovely'.

Corduroy 'Very Yeah - The Director's Cut - Complete compositions 1992 - 1996

When Cherry Red asked us to work on this box set for Corduroy containing all of the Acid Jazz releases it was a real trip down memory lane. As the title suggests it's the 'Complete' compositions from tha halcyon days of the Acid Jazz scene from the 90's. The Box contains a 16 page booklet and 4 CD's. The 3 studio albums the Live in Japan album 'Quattro', all of which have been packed with demo's / sessions and all manner of extra's. Nice!

London Posse 'Gangster Chronicles: The Definitive Collection'

Without doubt one of the best UK rap albums ever in our book underwent a deluxe release adding a full disc of bonus material. What a joy it was to get this one back from print and get it on!! We took the existing artwork and brought it up to date with new headlines, additions and expanded the original. Great pleasure to work on this and looking forward to progressing with the new Rodney P project.
